Confidence is the ability to take a stance and defend a position. To be able to project confidence:
- Convince, don’t cave: Confidence resides in those who show conviction and “sell” their ideas rather than backing away from them when challenged.
- Don’t explain. Don’t defend: When you make a decision and you’re willing to “bet the farm,” go with it. You don’t have to defend your views every time you’re challenged.
- Realize confidence doesn’t equate to witchiness – and if people call you a witch – so what.
When people resort to name-calling, it’s usually because you’ve backed them into a corner and they don’t have solid information to get themselves out.
